The VinFast VF8 (Almost) Everything Comes Standard

When buying a brand-new car, is there anything better than seeing how many standard features it comes with versus the disappointment of a car where everything is optional? With the VinFast VF8, there is no worry about options or optional features because both trim levels, the Eco and Plus, come with pretty much everything you can think of, except for the kitchen sink.

Advanced Assistance and Safety Systems

No matter whether you buy or lease an Eco or Plus model, both VF8 models come standard with the latest and greatest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and safety features that include Traffic Jam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Centering Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Speed Recognition, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Detection, Door Opening Warning, Front Automatic Emergency Braking, Emergency Lane Keep Assist, Front Parking Assist, Rear Parking Assist, backup camera, Automatic High Beam, and a 360-degree Surround View Camera system. All models also come with 11 airbags as standard safety equipment.

Ultra Bright Lighting for Increased Driving Safety

To aid in nighttime driving and ensure visibility on the road, the VF8 comes standard with extremely bright LED headlights, an LED light bar in the center of the nose that connects the LED daytime running lights to the VinFast logo, and LED taillights.

Excellent Display and HUD

When getting into the VF8, you will notice the beautiful and vibrant 15.6-inch touchscreen that controls everything in the vehicle, allowing drivers and passengers to have everything at their fingertips, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. A bright head-up display is also standard on all models, which is something EVs like the Rivian R1S and VW ID.4 don’t even have as an option (both cars cost more than the VF8, too). Both Eco and Pro models give occupants two USB-A ports up front, two USB-A ports, and a single USB-C port for rear passengers to keep all devices charged up.

A Warranty That Gives Confidence

One of the greatest standard features a vehicle can have is a good warranty. Prospective buyers of electric vehicles want to know they are truly covered if anything goes wrong with the battery system in the car. This is entirely understandable. While most EV manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Volkswagen, Tesla, and the like all have a nice 8-10 year warranty for their battery systems, they all have a hard mileage limit for their warranties. Mercedes-Benz has a 155,000-mile limit, which is the highest, and Genesis has a 124,000-mile limit. Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, VW, and Audi all have a 100,000-mile limit, and BMW only has an 80,000-mile warranty. VinFast, on the other hand, has a 10-year, unlimited-mile warranty on the battery system. That is how you know an EV company believes in its product and wants to take care of its customers.

VinFast VF8 vs Volkswagen ID.4

Vinfast VF8 Front View

Vinfast VF8 Front ViewThe 2024 VinFast VF8 is starting to hit great strides in the American market with some of the strongest lease and purchase options available to electric vehicle customers. It’s no surprise that buyers are starting to see what makes the VF8 a great choice, whether it be the 10-year, unlimited-mile battery warranty that no other automaker has or its smartphone app that makes paying for charging and scheduling maintenance easier than ever. It might also be the company’s unique deal with Sony to bring their movie and TV show collection into VinFast vehicles that can be watched using the vehicle infotainment displays and smart devices while in VinFast cars.

It certainly helps customers see a new side of EV ownership when there are so many great ways to enjoy their car outside of just driving it. This is why, when compared to legacy car manufacturers’ EV offerings, like the Volkswagen ID.4, the VF8 is the better choice.

Better Features For Less Money

The VF8 is available in Eco and Plus trim levels with an 87.7 kWh dual-motor battery system and standard all-wheel drive. This is radically different from other EV brands, where dual motors and all-wheel drive are optional. The ID.4 AWD Pro has a base MSRP of $50,180, while the base VF8 Eco starts from $46,000. The VF8 also has a head-up display as standard, which is not available on any of the ID.4 trim levels.

Vinfast VF8 Front Seat ViewLess Range Anxiety, More Range Calmness

Range is always a talking point with EVs, especially newer EV vehicles that have not been on the market long. However, this is an area where the VinFast VF8 does well for potential buyers. The base model Eco trim has an EPA-estimated 264 mile range, which is quite a bit more than the standard Volkswagen ID.4 with just 209 miles and rear-wheel drive. Opting for the ID.4 AWD Pro gets the range to jump to 263. Unlike the Volkswagen, which can only tow up to 2,700 lbs in higher trim levels, all VF8 models can tow up to 4,000 lbs when properly equipped.

Vinfast VF8 Front View DrivingNot Flashy Speed, But Plenty Fast

While many EVs try to be flashy with extremely fast 0-60 times, the VF8 is not meant to be a speed demon like some. That being said, it will still get up and go, with a 0-60 mph time of only 5.0 seconds, which is much faster than the Volkswagen ID.4’s 7.3 seconds.

Vinfast VF8 Side ViewA Warranty That Wins

In the end, buyers who are worried about investing in a young EV brand like VinFast can rest assured that there is no other automaker that offers a better warranty, including Volkswagen. The ID.4 has a 4-year, 50,000-mile warranty that covers that vehicle from bumper to bumper with an extra 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty. The VinFast VF8, on the other hand, has a 10-year, 125,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 10-year, unlimited-mile battery warranty.

VinFast Smartphone App Integration

Vinfast App

New Vinfast VF8 Front ViewModern electric vehicles all come feature-packed, including smartphone apps that have various features. One of the best parts about owning any VinFast model is the vast amount of technology and safety that are standard, unlike other cars. One such feature that both customers and journalists alike love is the all-in-one VinFast mobile app.

Vinfast AppThe VinFast Mobile App Features

With the VinFast mobile app for Apple and Android devices, owners can schedule service appointments, check the status of their service booking, as well as approve any potential repairs that need to be made. In addition to service and warranty features, the mobile app also allows owners to plan a trip that will enable them to easily find chargers on the way, pay for charging built into the app, and check the state of charge.

Vinfast VF8 Interior Dash ViewThe App Makes Life Easier For All

Most EV chargers require you to use an app to pay and start charging your car. However, buying or leasing a VinFast alleviates the frustration of downloading half a dozen apps for various charging companies. Instead, most of the companies and the chargers you will encounter on your travel are built into the apps. Simply adding your payment details ensures a greater level of financial safety, not having to have your personal information and credit cards embedded with so many potentially unsecure apps. Simply use the VinFast app on your phone or tablet to determine the company whose charger you’re using, and tap to pay. It’s as easy as that.

New Vinfast VF8 Rear Cargo SpacePower, Range, and Warranty

For 2024, the VinFast VF8 has an 87.7 kWh battery that puts out 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque in the Eco trim and 402 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque in the Plus trim. Eco trim models have a total driving range of 264 miles, while the range-topping Plus model can go 243 miles before needing to be charged. Every new VinFast model has a 10-year, 125,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty plus a 10-year, unlimited-mile battery warranty. Both of these warranties are transferable to the next owner should you choose to sell or trade your car or if owners decide to hand their VinFast down to their children for a safe, reliable electric vehicle. The pair of 10-year warranties also entitles customers to free 24/7 mobile service.

VinFast Modern Production Line

Vinfast VF8 Production Line

Vinfast VF8 Production LineDesigning, engineering, and manufacturing cars is not an easy thing to do. It is a time-consuming, demanding, and expensive process from start to finish. As a young company just starting, it can also be challenging to find qualified and loyal employees who can do their best to make the right product. VinFast is rapidly becoming known for its modern production line, which features fewer people and more robots to help streamline the production process.

New Massive Production Facility

In September 2017, VinFast opened its state-of-the-art 828-acre manufacturing plant, where roughly 90% of its automotive production is automated. This plant, in particular, will serve as the main production headquarters for years to come, with the goal of producing 950,000 vehicles by 2026.

Vinfast VF8 Production LineRobots Save Time and Money

People mess up; it is a natural part of being human. However, robots do not. While there still needs to be employees at VinFast factories who help to design software and input information that tells the robots what to do, ultimately, they are perfect in their execution of a given task. Plus, it can save time and money when retooling or adjusting manufacturing techniques for new models or simple model changes and modifications.

Vinfast VF8 Production LineFewer People Means Fewer Injuries

Because of the streamlined process of robot production, VinFast is hoping for, and so far succeeding at, having fewer production issues, which will often wreak havoc on a young or small car company and even larger companies during the first year of a new model. Fewer people on the production line also means a much lower rate of incidents where someone could get injured. Automotive manufacturing facilities are filled with heavy machinery that is constantly moving. There are heavy vehicles going through the assembly process. Accidents happen. With robots, that isn’t as much of an issue.

Vinfast VF8 Production LineNew Production Facilities

As of now, all current vehicle production is taking place in Haiphong, Vietnam, with battery production in Ha Tinh, Vietnam. VinFast is also expanding a new production facility in North Carolina. The capacity to manufacture up to 150,000 vehicles per year in America will greatly assist VinFast in achieving its future goals and success.

Why Leasing An EV Makes Dollars And Cents

Vinfast VF8 Front View Driving

There are many opinions about leasing versus buying, and both have merits. However, buying a new electric vehicle is not always the best decision, as this article will discuss. VinFast is a young company, especially here in the United States, and while they are building and advancing at a high rate, that is one of the reasons why leasing is the better option for new VinFast customers.

Tax Credits

One constant, regardless of whether you purchase or lease a car, is that you will still be eligible for any state and federal tax incentives offered to EV customers. So, the $7,500 federal tax credit and whatever state tax credits are offered are available to customers buying or leasing a new electric car.

Faster Advancements Than Ever Before

The main reason experts advise customers to lease an EV instead of buying comes down to one simple reason: battery technology. There was a time when advancements in battery technology took a decade or more. But these days, every 3-5 years, there are significant shifts in battery performance, cooling, range, cost, and even charging speeds and capacities.

Quality and Reliability Standards

Along with technology seeing faster leaps forward, so do production standards and quality control issues. Young electric cars used to have body panel fitment issues, and there were some reliability concerns and frustrations when it came to interior quality. Now, though, panel fitment issues are mostly a thing of the past, and overall interior reliability and quality are way up. New EV customers are constantly raving about the comfort and vast amounts of interior space that just isn’t possible in a conventional gas-powered car due to transmission tunnels, large engine bays, etc., needed to house all of the things that make an internal combustion engine car work.

Design Evolution

Another luxury of modern EVs is the constant evolution of designs. Lots of electric cars of the past were either former gas engine cars with batteries transplanted into them, or they were new designs without any real character that made people fall in love with them. A mainstay of car culture is the look and appeal of a car’s style. People always talk about the beautiful and creative designs of cars from the 1950s and ‘60s, but no one talks about a 2010 Tesla. However, that is changing. VinFast products have a soulful style and presence, and the VF7, VF8, and VF9 each have their unique way of making new customers fall in love with their vehicle as they walk up to it.

Vinfast Electric Vehicle VF8 InteriorVinFast Will Make You Fall In Love

It has long been said that you can tell a car is beautiful by how many times you turn around to look at it as you walk away. The VinFast line of SUVs builds on that ethos in the EV world. And thanks to great lease specials, you can rest assured that there are plenty of advancements in technology and features that will keep you a VinFast client for years to come.
